Rejoice, coffee lovers! A recent study revealed that drinking coffee before your workout session can increase your performance, make it more enjoyable, and help in weight loss. Folks, I’m talking about black coffee.

As per studies published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, athletes who downed a hot cup of coffee before their daily exercise session were able to burn 15 percent more calories. Drinking caffeine in the morning also helps keep your calorie intake in check throughout the day. People who drank coffee ate 72 calories less as compared to others.
If you are feeling lazy in the morning for the workout, then coffee is necessary to kickstart your day.
Benefits of Coffee Before Workouts
It makes you feel less sleepy
I always find it challenging to get up in the morning. When I start taking coffee in the morning, it increases my alertness and helps me stay focused while performing my workouts. You can also give it a try if finding challenging to rise early in the morning.
Reduce muscle pain
As per another study carried out at the University of Illinois, consuming coffee reduces muscular pain after intense exercise. It will help you to work harder for a better result.
More Muscle Fuel
A cup of warm black coffee in the morning filled me with energy, and I performed better in my Hatha Yoga session.
Improves Concentration Level
It is essential to stay focused during our workout sessions. Firstly, it reduces the chances of getting injured. Secondly, it will be easier for you to maintain the correct form, which is crucial to reach any fitness goal.
Coffee Helps Burn Fat and Boost Energy
The high levels of caffeine in coffee significantly improve the ability to burn fat during exercises. If we take coffee in the morning, we consume fewer calories because caffeine suppresses appetite.
Once caffeine enters the bloodstream, the body responds in several ways. Blood Pressure and Heart Rate increase, fat stores are broken down, and fatty acids are released into the bloodstream, which results in feeling more energetic for a great workout. Coffee stimulates the body to use fat stores, instead of muscle glycogen, during long workouts.
Coffee also increase the release of feel-good neurotransmitters like dopamine, which effects pain receptors and mood while you are working out.
